I had a dream last night, and in typical fashion, I only remember a few moments of it....

I was talking to one of the guys at work, and he was saying he really wanted children. I was surprised that someone younger than me felt ready for kids (I doubt he feels that way in real life, but whatever), and I told him, "I'm not ready for kids. I don't know if I'll ever be."

He said, "First you fall in love with your own kids. Then you fall more in love with yourself."

I wonder what that means? I wonder if it's true? Maybe you do see yourself in a different way when you're a parent and you grow to love yourself even more than you did, because you are helping this young person grow and teaching him/her values and morals and to be a good person. Maybe seeing a new part of yourself and discovering more about yourself helps you love yourself more.

An interesting idea, at least.
