WW, take three! Action!

(( Thursday, January 23, 2003 // 03: 07 AM ))

Today, I ran into a million and one references to Weight Watchers. Everyone is doing it, it seems! There are commercials on television and lots of online journals talking about it. Well, apparently I'm now joining the ranks with these sentences alone!

Here's what I realized... I did well on Weight Watchers, for a while. But I lost my motivation. I was losing my money, week by week, and not seeing a huge difference in myself. Meetings were difficult to attend because of school. Yadda yadda. I do do well in structured programs, though. I do well when I have a plan. When I project my hope of eating better or drinking more water out into thin air, nothing ever comes of it. I said I'd do Yoga at home sometime, and I did it one morning after seven months of owning all the Yoga equipment and accessories. I need more, is what I'm saying. Some kind of kick-start.

So, how do I go about doing Weight Watchers without time conflicts and without losing my money? Online, of course! I've got an Excel file I can use as a food log. I've got the free WW message boards for support and advice. And every single week, I am going to get ten dollars cash and stick it in an envelope and weigh myself.

Money motivates me, I've realized. So this is my reward: When I get to my goal weight, and ONLY then, I will get to take out all the money and spend it as I wish. I'm thinking a professional massage might have to be at the top of the list! Or a new piercing. Something for me, something meaningful.

It's also great, because I still have all my WW stuff. I just need to find out what my points range is, which I'll get from the message boards.

Dr. Phil said (yes, I watch Dr. Phil. And I love him! I'm not ashamed!!) that sometimes you have to make Life Decisions, decisions that are personal and meaningful to your life. He said you just have to make a choice everyday to stick to it, if you really want to change something in your life. So that's what I did!

And now I have a plan I can be excited about!
