A week off

(( Tuesday, February 18, 2003 // 10: 20 PM ))

Today is my last day of pet-sitting for one whole week. I visited with the my sweet St. Bernard girl again and her goofy pal, the Border Collie. I love them! I do not love the slobber or insane amount of shedding, though. I thought I was being smart by wearing a tank top today. Less fabric to try to remove hair from. Alas, my plan did not work. Their fur stuck to my arms just as easily as it ever stuck to my clothes!! My god that's a lot of fur! But damned if they don't have the cutest personalities...

Then I took care of Pumpkin the sweetie cat and Red, the cat who thinks he's invisible. His invisibility efforts may have finally panned out, though, because today I didn't see him at all! I like holding Pumpkin. She is so big and soft and cuddly. She's twice the size of my cat, Patches. I used to think Patches was big, but not anymore!

It'll be nice to have a little bit of a break, I think. Especially after this weekend, during which I ended up cleaning cat poo out of a client's bathtub. Gross, gross, gross! I'd advise anyone who has indoor/outdoor cats, please, for the love of god, keep a litterbox inside your home!

Okay, enough of that.

So I have a free week ahead of me! I will have to invent fun stuff to do for myself. Or else I could do all the un-fun stuff I've been meaning to do, like organizing, and cleaning, and other chore-ish activities. Hmm. I'm feeling drawn to Door Number One, personally.

I was watching Oprah today, a frequent occurrence in my life as of late, and she had some decorator guy on. He and Oprah chose two families and re-decorated one entire room of their home using only Walmart products. I couldn't believe the stuff that guy came up with. I want to decorate and be all crafty! Wow! It definitely appealed to the wannabe interior decorator in me. I wonder if that would be a fun job?

The only hard part about decorating my own home is coming up with stuff that the cats won't ruin. Ah, the challenges of being a pet owner!

Well I'm off to watch strange robot video clips with my man. Apparently, books have trailers now? Interesting.

More later!
