Today is a grey and rainy day here in Western Washington. It's making me sleepy. I want sunshine! I'd even take a nap, but I am being vain today. That's right -- I don't want to mess up my hair! I just got it cut by Mom's hairdresser, Karen, earlier today. And it is incredibly cute! I love Karen!! And not just because she knows what she's doing with those scissors, either. She is really funny and enthusiastic and we had a great time talking! Ah, the joy of meeting a fellow chatterbox! So yeah, my big news of the day is that I love my hair!

My big news of yesterday is that I learned how to take my pulse in my elbow! My mom is learning all kinds of crazy stuff in her Medical Assistant program. One of the more normal, not-surprising things she's learning is how to take someone's blood pressure. She practiced on me a little yesterday, but had trouble hearing my pulse. So I put on her stethoscope and listened for a little while, pressing around here and there in my general elbow area. Then, all of a sudden, I heard it! Mom had gone to do something else for a moment, so I rushed upstairs to show her. Then I couldn't hear it anymore, despite the fact that I'd held the stethoscope in place just so I wouldn't lose it. But alas... I lost it.

Then today, just by feeling around, I found it again! So I know where my pulse is in both elbows now! Which is exciting only to me. And possibly Mom.

Have I mentioned how much I love my new haircut? LOVE. I totally do. My hair rocks. Possible pictures pending. I wish I'd brought my own digital camera!! Lesson learned.

It's nice to relax and spend time with Mom and Flikka, the greyhound. It makes me happy! In fact, Mom just got home from class. We're going to have ice cream sandwiches and chat while watching t.v.

Life is good!
