And You Smell Like One, Too!

(( Monday, April 28, 2003 // 03: 17 PM ))

Today, I am twenty-two years old! Yes, that's right! It's my birthday! Yippeeee!

So far, it's been great! Nice and relaxing. Joe wished me a happy birthday shortly after midnight, which I thought was super sweet! He even called me at lunch time today, to say it again! I love him!!

This morning before he left, Joe said to just take it easy today and enjoy my birthday. And I am certainly following his advice. I just checked my email and looked over the Weight Watchers boards a little bit, which was fun. There were some letters in my inbox from family wishing me a happy day, including a virtual birthday cake from my mom. She's so funny! And then, of all things, I received an email from my Latvian penpal wishing me a happy birthday!! I can't believe she remembered!

My awesome friend, Angela, called me this morning to wish me a happy birthday, too. She cracks me up, because she asked for my address and then I swear I heard her say, "Priority mail," to the clerk, while I was put on hold because she "had to pay for something." Hehe! She's so cute!

I checked the postal mail, too, eagerly looking for any envelopes labelled "UCLA," but alas, found none. However, I did receive a birthday card from my aunt! Very cool.

Even Patches gave me a birthday present. Instead of puking on my purse, she puked right next to it. Awww! Thanks, Patches!

I'm just spending my day quietly on my computer, or reading, doing puzzles, etc. I even chatted with Mom a bit, which was great. No errands. No worrying over anything. All nice stuff!

Tonight, I'm attending a brief training at the wildlife hospital. It's important that I get up to date on everything before I start volunteering there again! Including a tetanus shot, which I'll have to get soon. Woo!

I'm excited about going, because all of the people there are really nice and fun to chat with. I always enjoy myself at the museum!

The sad part is, the meeting lets out when the restaurant I like is closing. At 9pm. What's wrong with them? Why do places here close so early? Nine o'clock is still dinner time! So anyway, Joe and I are going to have my birthday dinner there tomorrow night. It'll be fun! Pasta, wine, and sorbet? How can you go wrong? You can't!

So far, I am having a happy birthday. I like birthdays! Especially my own. I am feeling really lucky, grateful, and happy right now. Just... about everything. I must say... Life is good!
