Joe's home!
(( Sunday, April 25, 2004 // 01: 49 AM ))
I picked up Joe from the airport on Thursday night. Want to guess where he was?

For those of you for whom this picture is too dark, that's the Eiffel Tower he's motioning to, Vanna-style. Yep, he'd spent the previous week on a business trip in Paris, and I missed him like crazy while he was gone! I knew I'd be excited to have hime back home, but I was actually even more excited than I'd expected to be. This is because Joe and I are ridiculously in love, which I think is awesome.
Of course, his being away meant we missed an entire week of being bizarre and silly together, which we've been catching up on since his return. Today, for instance! At 6:00am, Joe was up and trying to convince me to get up as well. He told me it was noon and that it'd been raining and storming all morning. "I'm surprised you slept through it!" he said. I knew it was 6:00. I'd looked at the clock, by golly! I'm not that gullible!!! Except that later in the afternoon, when we were actually up and about, it was beastly outside, which I found shocking. "I can't believe how hot it is considering it was raining just this morning," I said to Joe.
"Oh, uh, yeah. I was kidding about that part. I was trying to give an explanation for why it'd be so dark outside at noon, so that you'd believe it really was noon."
Commence sulking, on my part.
Cue Joe being unable to contain his laughter.
Man. He got me good. Damn!
He also stole my pillows this morning right out from under my head, after convincing me to turn and look at something that was not, in fact, that amazing. "Oh my god, look at Patches!" he said. So I did! But she was just sitting still, and by the time I realized I'd been tricked, my pillow was gone. Of course, I didn't help matters by shouting through my laughter, "Oh my god, I KNEW it!" And then I may have called him a jerk. I still say that when you're laughing, calling someone a jerk is not really that bad. Plus, that's the worst thing I've called him in all these years, so that's pretty good, right? Even so, I apologized a bunch, because name-calling, even in jest, actually makes me the jerk. My apologies, of course, didn't stop Joe from bringing it up repeatedly, but I can't say I blame him for that. "I can't believe you called me a jerk," he'd say. Well, me neither, really! Sorry, baby.
We're fine now, though. We had a nice brunch together, followed by lots of shopping, and a trip down to a whole other city just for some jambalaya from Popeye's.
Before venturing down to Popeye's, we had a massive silliness-fest, in which we played with our new toys. We bought an Eye Toy, which came with a dancing game. The camera points at you, and you use your body as the remote control. In this particular game, you choose a song, and while it plays you have to dance and hit the various objects on the screen. Hmm, typing this out makes me feel like I'm making no sense whatsoever. It's definitely easier to understand once you see it! Anyway, you dance around like a crazy person in order to play this game, and it is really, really fun. Great exercise, too! In fact, it tired us both out fairly quickly, so we quit, even though we were both enjoying the dancing, as well as the screenshot feature after each song. There's nothing quite like seeing video clips of yourself dancing around withOUT all those flying things on the screen. So much silliness and laughter!
Of course, all that fun made us want to play Karaoke Revoution again, which pulled us in for several hours and made our throats hurt from all the singing. But hey, we got several more gold albums!! We are rock stars up in this here hizzouse!
Once we finally pulled ourselves away from all the singing madness, we headed out to the game store to do some more shopping. Then, we went to Popeye's and came home to enjoy our jambalaya. (I just like saying that word.)
After that, there was a home viewing of the Pink Panther movie, during which I promptly fell asleep. I really hate it when I do that. I'm notorious for falling asleep during movies! Especially after dinner. It's like my body can't handle digesting food AND viewing a movie without needing a nap. I am such a delicate flower.
Anyway, Joe and I had such a fun day today and I know we'll have an equally fun day tomorrow. I'm thrilled to have him home! I love my Joe.

I'm glad he's back:) This explains why I haven't bumped into him at Burger Island for a while though;)

You're right, that Eye Toy thing was hard to understand. I think some pictures would definitely make it more clear. Preferably some action shots of the dancing around "like a crazy person." :o)
