Alphabytes and Roses
(( Monday, May 31, 2004 // 12: 34 AM ))
Partly because of the scarcity of entries here lately, I signed up to do Alphabytes this year! My goal for June is to write an entry every single day. Huh? What? Stop laughing, you! I'm serious! An entry a day, most often having to do with a letter of the alphabet (not necessarily in alphabetical order, though). I'm going to try to write one entry for each of the 26 letters of the alphabet. I think this site will come in handy! Some will suck, some might only be a paragraph long, but so help me god, an entry a day for the month of June! Stay tuned.
In other news, things have been good around here lately. I have so many stories to share! Hopefullly nothing too exciting will happen over the next several days. That way, I can spend boring days telling you about exciting things that happened weeks ago. Heh.
Okay, one story I've been meaning to write about is from the day I heard about getting into UCLA. I called Joe and left him a voicemail. That day, he called me and told me congratulations, and then! He came home with ROSES! This is the second time in the many years we've been together that he has ever given me flowers. I was so excited!
Then he said, "Want to know how I got them?"
"No," I said, matter of factly.
"No, please, you gotta let me tell you the story!"
"Oh, all right!"
Apparently, Joe was having ice cream with a co-worker at McDonald's. A man walks in selling flowers, saying they're being offered at a discount. Co-worker guy waved him away, but then Joe thought, actually that's a pretty good deal! They were fifty dollar roses being sold for fifteen. Joe bought a dozen for me, and Co-worker guy bought a dozen for his wife, as well.
"So that's the story," he said. "They're probably stolen."
Awww. Stolen roses. My guy is so romantic. Hehehe...

Hehe, thanks Reenie!
