Yule Eve

(( Tuesday, December 21, 2004 // 02: 12 AM ))

Tonight, Joe gave me an early Christmas present. In the short time it took for me to walk to the laundry room and back, it magically appeared, beautifully wrapped beneath the Christmas tree. He asked if I'd like to open it, and I was reluctant at first. I thought this might be the first year that we'd wait until Christmas Day to open our gifts (we always celebrate early). But after a few short moments of deliberation, I decided it was okay. After all, it's Yule Eve! So it works out just fine, right?

Joe set the gift in my lap, I tore off the paper, and soon my gift was revealed -- a Canon Powershot A95! A new digital camera!! I wasn't even expecting it! Joe thought I might like a more advanced camera than our Kodak, and he's right - I would. I do! I can't wait to learn all the different options and what they do so that I can take some really great pictures. Soon, you will all be subjected to Artsy Meg. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Also tonight, Joe and I did our Christmas cards. A little late in the month, yes, but better late than never. And a few times, it actually has been "never," so we're quite proud of ourselves. We like to be weird and unusual when it comes to our cards, so coming up with a concept was an interesting process, too. Overall, we really think these cards are "us," so we're feeling pretty pleased right now.

Considering that I also did some weight lifting, this has turned out to be quite the productive day!

Happy Solstice! I'm looking forward to seeing the results of Artsy Meg with your new camera! I'm envious - it looks like a really awesome one too!
