Winter Quarter Begins!

(( Monday, January 10, 2005 // 11: 09 PM ))

Today was my first day back at school! Winter Quarter has officially begun. It definitely feels wintry on campus, too. Not in that it's very cold, because it's not really. It's just so rainy. It's been raining for days! And that's what Winter is all about in L.A., anyway. The Wet Season. I actually like it. It will always remind me of Seattle and London (and I'll probably always describe it that way every time it rains!). I'm actually glad I lived in Washington state. It made me hate the rain for a while - get well and truly sick of it. And now when it rains here in L.A., I can appreciate it and love it, because I know it won't continue for the next 288 days. I love the way rain droplets land on my face. And sprinkle in puddles on the sidewalk. I do not like getting my pant legs wet, though. But since my experience with the rain mostly consists of feeling it land softly on my cheeks and listening to it splatter on my balcony while I'm warm and cozy inside, I'm able to maintain my love for the dreary weather.

It was great to be back on campus today in the midst of all the rain and cloudy skies. Though, when I first got there, I wanted to murder this one girl. She got in the wrong lane for parking permits, then forced her huge truck in front of ME. I was in the correct lane. She cut off a lot of people, and we were all there before her! Ugh.

After that, things went rather well! My Research class sounded hard at first, but the more she talked, the more I thought to myself, "Wow, I understand everything she's saying. This class is nothing like Statistics!"

I saw Amy in Research, too, and she felt the same way. We laughed, "If we could make it through Stats, we can do anything! We're like superheroes!"

So, I actually like Research. It should be good.

Social Psych is freaking awesome. We're talking about all kinds of interesting stuff. Today was just an intro. I'll try to write little blurbs on stuff we cover, because it's fascinating and will be fun to share.

Then, my beloved elective, the web writing class, came at the end of the day. I have to make a personal website in that class and write about my life. Yes, really. Could I be more excited about this class?! I think not! That class was designed with me in mind. Also, I adore my professor, and my TA seemed so nice. That is going to be an incredibly fun class, I can tell you that much right now.

Getting into the web class also means I don't have to put up with boring Geology. I thought it might be interesting until I got an email from the professor Sunday night about homework that was due today. Oy! I didn't even understand what he was talking about, so there's no way I'd do well in there. I'm dropping that class like a sack o' rocks!

More coolness: I only go to school three days a week. My days start late and end late. My professors are all funny people. I will get to see my friends, but not as much as last quarter, which can mean only one thing - I'll have to make even more friends!

This quarter is off to an excellent start!

Hi Meg~

First off, thanks for dropping a note in my journal a few weeks ago. Between work, the holidays, and trying to come up with Holidailies entries, I just didn't have time to reply to things!

I did want to let you know that I'm moving my journal to a new address (it's above). I've also bookmarked you and am looking forward to a new journal read!

Best wishes for 2005...
