~ A Walk Can Do Wonders
   Finally, after the siren song of my running shoes wouldn't let up, I decided that there was no way I was going to cause irreparable damage to myself just by going for a walk.

~ Paris, Jour 6 - Our Last Day
   When we first woke up this morning, we were still a bit undecided about what we wanted to do. The great downpouring of rain outside, however, helped us narrow down our choices to Things That Can Be Done Indoors!

~ Paris, Jour 5 - L'Arc de Triomphe & Champs Elysee
   All those names etched in the bricks, all the sculptures embedded in the stone, the spectacular designs on the ceiling... It was truly remarkable being there and taking it all in.

~ Paris, Jour 4 - Rest and Relaxation
   On our way to the train, a band played in the hallway of the metro station. It consisted of two upright basses, a clarinet, and a few other horns. Their music was beautiful and mesmerizing!

~ Paris, Jour 3 - Disneyland!
   As we walked through the park, it was so strange to see everything. Joe asked how I liked it and what I thought, and I said, "I love it! It's the same... but different!"

~ Paris, Jour 2 - Louvre, Eiffel Tower
   It was breathtaking, in a literal sense. I had to keep reminding myself to breathe, and to breathe deeply, as I watched the city fall away beneath me.

~ Paris, Jour 1 - Arrival, Notre Dame & more
   Anyway, we walked about a mile and a half down to Notre Dame, and as we walked, I was just amazed by it all. "I'm here, in Paris!" I kept thinking.

~ I'm grateful to have the luxury to be an asshole.
   I feel embarrassed that I didn't even realize New Orleans was below sea level, or in danger of flooding. I should know more about my country and its people. That's what makes me feel like an asshole.
